Shows you should be Watching

All right Game Fans, we're back for another round of Shows you should be watching.  Today's two RPG streams are amazing, and I am going to talk about a couple of wargamer channels you should check out.

1.  Dice, Camera, Action is the twitch fueled play through of the Curse of Strahd mega-adventure hosted by those whacky kids at Wizards of the Coast.  What makes this stream entertaining above and beyond getting to watch some D & D, is the Dungeon Master, Chris Perkins.  Chris has a laundry list of accolades and achievements in the RPG industry, and he seems to be having the time of his life running adventures.  In fact, he's running the finale of the Acquisitions Incorporated live show this Saturday at Pax West.  Chris is at his best with the laid back style of letting the players drive the story while being ready to drop them all in a pool of acid.

The Dice, Camera, Action crew is not his usual group of gamers, but an assortment of fun streamers and youtubers.  He does, on occasion grab one of the Yogs to add to the merriment. This is an adventure where the world is out to destroy you, and Chris will smile at you while he describes just how bad things are going to get.

You can catch live episodes at https://www.twitch.tv/wotc_dnd every Wednesday at 4pm pacific, or you can catch up on past episodes of Dice, Camera, Action on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfS8QgUdeGYo8F3RPUQ2Wsi2mZLPcaU6X

#dnd,

2.  Corporate SINs is a live stream game of Shadowrun 5th edition hosted on the always entertaining Hyper RPG channel on Twitch.  Put together by the crew at Harebrained Schemes and hosted live every Wednesday night, Corporate SINs follows the misadventures of a team of Shadowrunners that are on their way to make all the nuyen while not getting killed by the many wonderfully dangerous things that wander the Seattle Sprawl.  They've just posted their 26th episode up on their Youtube channel, and tomorrow night should be the 27th in a line of fun and mischief.

Lauren Bond is the GM of Corporate SINs and manages to keep the action (and story) moving forward while wrangling an amazing bunch of cats. Huge Props for balancing a party of physical characters interspersed with both a decker and a pair of magic types (Traditionally, Deckers had their own subgame within Shadowrun that monopolized GM time, the 5th edition balances this issue, and Lauren runs it well).  It's a wonderful show that shows off what you can do with the Shadowrun universe without expecting new players to have a master's degree in Shadowrun (is that a thing?).
Catch Corporate SINs live on twitch at http://www.twitch.tv/hyperrpg at 6pm pacific.  Check in a half hour before that if you want to get involved with the Corporate Wars metagame.  If you want to catch up on past episodes, you can find it at

3.  Guerrilla Miniature Games is a Youtube channel that showcases a wide array of Miniature Wargames for the consumption of an interested and enthused crowd of observers.  Ash Barker and his host of merry miscreants show off out of print games, new independent games and show off some of the most prevalent games in the market.  His Learn to play series is responsible for me picking up half the games we talk about here, and started an Age of Sigmar bug that's going to have me finishing my Lizardmen army.

According to the Enraged Wookie "That's all kinds of his fault"

Ash is a good natured teacher of all things Wargaming related and seems like the nicest guy in the world. The Enraged Wookie thinks that might be some place we visit next summer.

4.  Gaming with the Cooler is a channel associated with GMG through the tabletop Media Co-Operative (on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TabletopMediaCoOp).  Owen hosts videos about dozens of different wargames and has stretched out into digital gaming and has video series for the new Total War: Warhammer franchise and the Battlefleet Gothic: Armada game.

Owen always seems to be having a good time during a game, even when things do not go according to plan.

You can find Owen on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Gamingwiththecooler and on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIq_jIHBk_ZIG0zkQgpuC7g

We do have a special shout out this week to a video that turned up on youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3fIN310jGY is a video of an excited young hobbyist teaching the world how to play Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.  There are days that we wish we had this much energy and excitement for the hobby and we hope this kid does great things in the future.

That's it for our review of shows you should be watching, and we hope you all have a fun week of shows and podcasts.

Game On, Game Fans
