Adventurer's League Season 2 Breakdown

Hey Game Fans, today we’re going to do a quick breakdown of the Experience Points for Season 2 of Adventurer’s League.  There are basically two experience tracks in season 2 (One for brand new characters up to level 4, and one for more experienced characters that are level 5-10).  We’re going to list the adventures, and indicate where they belong on these tracks and maybe some good points to consider hopping from the lower level track to the upper level track.  This season can’t be played in direct order by following the adventure numbers because of these two different tracks.  We’re going to take a deeper dive and see what information we can come up with to thelp you get your stuff together.  Read on, Game Fans.

Lower Level Track

DDEX 2-1 City of Danger;  Experience points  after completion: Between 375-500, depending on the outcomes.  After completing this adventure, your character will be 2nd level, barring you missing one of the segments, or suffering an untimely death during the adventure.

DDEX2-2 Embers of Elmwood; Experience points after completion.  If played after City of Danger, between 825 and 1100.  If played by itself, between 450 and 600.  If being played as part of the sequence, it’s going to get your character to almost 3rd level, or push you over that number.  If played on its own, it will get your character to level 2.

DDEX 2-5 Flames of Kythorn; Experience points after completion: If played after Embers of Elmwood, between 1275 and 1700.  If played by itself, between 450 and 600.  If you’re playing this adventure as part of the season 2 sequence, you should be level 3, if you’re playing it as a standalone, you should be level 2.

DDEX 2-6 Breath of the Yellow Rose;  Experience points after completion:  If played after Flames of Kythorn, between 2275 and 2900 experience points.  If played by itself, between 900 and 1200 experience points.  If played in the season 2 sequence, your character is going to be very close to level 4, if not over that threshold.  If played by itself, this will put you at level 3.

Note:  at this point, if you have achieved level 4, you can exercise the catching up option to reach level 5.  If you take this option, you can start the upper level track from this point as a 5th level character, but you will not be able to pursue anymore lower level track adventures.

DDEX 2-7 Bounty in the Bog; Experience points after completion:  If played after Breath of the Yellow Rose, between 2825 and 3500 experience points.  If played by itself, Between 450 and 600 experience points.  This should put a character playing in sequence on the threshold of level 4 and a new character should hit level 2.

DDEX 2-8 Foulness Beneath Mulmaster; Experience points  after completion:  If played after Bounty in the bog, between 3725 and 4700 experience points.  If played by itself, between 900 and 1200 experience points.  This is either a character well on its way towards 5th level, or it’s a new character that’s just hit 3rd level.

DDEX 2-10 Cloaks and Shadows; Experience points after completion:  If played after Foulness Beneath Mulmaster, between 4625 and 5900.  If played on its own, between 900 and 1200 experience points.  Played in sequence, this is still a 4th level character, but the end of the line for 5th level is in sight.  If you’re playing this one on its own, you are looking at a 3rd level character.

DDEX 2-11 Oubliette of Fort Iron;  Experience points after completion: If played after Cloaks and Shadows, between 4850 and and 6200 experience points.  If played by itself, between 225 and 300 experience points.  Level 5 is almost close enough to touch if you’ve been playing in sequence.  If played by itself, it’s possible to get to level 2, if everything goes right.

DDEX 2-12 Dark Rites at Fort Daltron; Experience points after completion:  If played after Oubliette of Fort Iron, between 5,075 and 6,500 experience points.  If played by itself between 225 and 300 experience points.  If played as part of the Season 2 sequence, congratulations, you’re potentially level 5.   If played by itself, it’s possible to get to level 2, if everything goes right.

Note 2:  If you’ve opted not to take the catching up path, and you’ve leveled up to 5, you are ready to start the upper level track of adventures.  You will not be able to participate in the last adventure in the lower level track, DDEX 2-16.

DDEX 2-16 Boltsmelter’s Book; Experience points after completion:  If played after Dark Rites at Fort Daltron, between 5,975 and 7,700 experience points.  If played on its own, between 900 and 1200 experience points.  If played in sequence you’re potentially level 5.  If played on its own, you’re level 3.

Note 3: If you still haven’t made it to level 5 after completing all of these adventures, and want to continue the mischief of this season, take the catching up option to level up to level 5 and jump in on the upper level track.

Upper Level Track

DDEX 2-3 The Drowned Tower; Experience points after completion: If played with a fresh, level five character, you should have between 9,500 and 10,500 experience points. This should keep your character at 5th level, while making progress towards 6th.   If played with a character continuing from the conclusion of Season 1, you can have an experience point total somewhere between 28,500 and 35,500, depending on how previous adventures went.  This means you’re have a character between 7th and 8th level.

DDEX 2-4 Mayhem in the Earthspur Mines; Experience points after completion:  If played as part of the Season 2 cycle of Upper level adventures, your character should have between 12,500 and 14,500 experience points.  This is extremely close to levelling up to 6th level, and if you’ve been playing hard, you should hit 6th level.  If you’re playing with a character that’s continuing from Season 1 and played 2-3, your character should have between 31,500 and 39,500 experience points.  This should put your character over the threshold for 8th level.

DDEX 2-9 Eye of the Tempest; Experience points after completion:  If played after Mayhem in the Earthspur Mines, between 18,500 and 22,500 experience points.  If played as a continuation of a Season 1 character, between 37,500 and 47,500 experience points.  A player playing the sequence is going to be knocking on the door of 7th level.  A Season 1 character is definitely 8th level, and could be very close to 9th level.

DDEX 2-13 The Howling Void; Experience points after completion:  If played after Eye of the Tempest, between 21,500 and 27,500.  If played as a continuation of a Season 1 character, between 40,500 and 50,500.  If you’re playing the season 2 cycle, you’re probably a 7th level character.  If you’re continuing a season 1 character, you’re probably level 8, but you could have reached level 9.

DDEX 2-14 The Sword of Selfaril; Experience points after completion: If played after The Howling Void, between 26,000 and 33,500 experience points.  If played as a continuation of a Season 1 character, between 45,00 and 56,500.  If you’re playing Season 2, then you’ve made it to 7th level.  If continuing from Season 1, you’re level 9.

DDEX 2-15 Black Heart of Vengeance; Experience points after completion:  If played as the conclusion to season 2, between 30,500 and 39,500 experience points.  If played as a continuation of a season 1 character, between 50,000 and 62,500.  A Season 2 character is between 7th and 8th level, and a Season 1 character is firmly in the 9th level.

Thoughts and Ideas:

Now this doesn’t cover every potential interaction, especially if you’re mixing home sessions of Princes of the Apocalypse in with your Adventurer’s League season, but if you’re playing strictly the AL season, these are the rough XP breakdowns.  Take a look, see what you think, and i hope this helps you plan out the season if you’re getting a late start.  It should also help organizers plan out their schedule for making sure that everyone has an opportunity to experience season 2 in a method where they can play either a character from a previous season or start a brand new experience.

Anyway, that’s our thoughts on the Season 2 experience breakdown.

Game On, Game Fans
